Mancember 2011

A very special performance is coming up this Thursday. Some friends and I will be hosting the 2nd annual Mancember holiday show here in Nashville!

What is Mancember, you ask? Well, it started last year when a few of my friends (Vince Romanelli, Michael Shoup, Kenny Foster and Justin Caldwell) and I were discussing the fact that we don't work together on music-things enough and we should really take advantage of the fact that we have this great network of people. The holidays were approaching at the time, so we decided to make that the theme.

We were seeking a snappy name for the event. We looked around and made the observation that we were all dudes. (Shrewd, I know.) So, we decided that Mancember would be a fun, silly name indicative of the fun, silly things that would happen at the show. Women and the gender neutral will always be welcome to both participate in and attend Mancember, but we're pretty happy with the name and we're sticking with it for now. Plus, it gives us a good excuse to do videos like this:

and this:

Last year was more of a parsed down acoustic set-up with a few yuletide surprises thrown in. This year, we're stretching it a bit further with a full band set up and lots of additional shenanigans. We've been working really hard on all the elements and I'm really excited about where this is headed. We plan on trying to make each year bigger, better and farther reaching!

The actual show will be Thursday, December 15th at The 5 Spot in East Nashville at 8 PM. But you can participate everywhere in the world by getting your free music sampler at mancember.info and streaming the show live over the internet! I'll post the information for that as soon as we get it set up.

Thanks and Happy Mancember!
